2 nights Nxai Pan
Nxai Pan is one of the largest salt pans of Botswana offering unique safari experiences with its live sightings of game and birdlife congregating to the water hole. A good population of elephants, springbok, giraffe, Ostrich, lions and other general game are found here. The Nxai Pan becomes perky with the zebra migration during the raining season, and birders appreciate the many bird species during the time. During the dry season sightings of Impala, gemsbok, wildebeest, hartebeest, cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena, bat-eared fox and elephants are seen.
4 nights CKGR
The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is situated right in the centre of Botswana. The reserve is characterized by saltpans and ancient riverbeds. The Central Kalahari is at its most best in the first few months of the year, during the rainy season when vast plains burst with sweet grasses attracting thousands of springbok and gemsbok. At this time the reserve flourish with vegetation, fulfilling number of giraffe, wildebeest, ostrich, cheetah and the famous black maned lions of the Kalahari are commonly seen, and general game congregating on the overflowing pans, moving out of the thickets.
3 nights Moremi Game Reserve
The Moremi Game Reserve boasts pans, floodplains, lagoons, grasslands, forests of acacia trees, savannahs and dense Mopane Woodlands. The magnificent contrasting landscapes host abundant game including large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant and zebra during the dry season. Wild Dogs are regularly sighted here. The sitatunga and lechwe live in the papyrus banks of the waterways with lions, cheetahs and packs of wild dogs hunting in the open grassland. The Moremi Game Reserve is home to over 400 of the Okavango’s bird species, including the African Fish Eagle, Crested Crane and Sacred Ibis.
2 nights Khwai Concession
This private concession is situated adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve.
The Khwai River flows through the concession pervading through Camel-thorn, apple leaf, and great stands of Leadwood trees. There is always a high concentration of game along the river, feasting on riverine grasses and quenching their thirst on the only main water source. The Khwai Concession is a good area to see Roan and Sable Antelope which are relatively rare. There are fairly stable populations of large predators such as Lion, Spotted Hyena and there is a good chance to see Leopard. In summer months migratory birds also come through.
2 nights Savuti Marsh, Chobe National Park
Savuti Marsh is home to exceptional wildlife-viewing opportunities in one of Botswana’s most popular Chobe National park. The channel has for the past seven years recommenced flowing after an almost three-decade-long dry spell. During the dry season wildlife compete for water and the limited shade, ensuring excellent game-viewing. Savuti is home to prides of lions, cheetah, elephant, wildebeest, and more general game. The wet season shows off the area’s excellent birdlife, with over 450 species known to make their home in the park. Remnants of the nomadic San’s occupation of the area can be seen in their rock art found in the Gubatsa Hills
